How maintain the gator strap

I bought a new watch, but its black gator strap. I want to know how to maintain it. Is it ok if i use the lanolin oil?

The lifespan of the lizard leather is about half year to three years. Because of the material itself property, they don’t need to be maintained particularly. Only two matters needing attention.
Don’t touch water, dry it immediately when it got wet. 2. Don’t wear it everyday, the nature leather needs time to recover spontaneously.
And last, the gator strap is luxury and consumable. The wastage is unavoidable, so use it normally is most basic. We bought watch to wear it not to admire it after all.

yes, but i think regular maintenance can keep the surface gloss. And an interchangeable watch is also very important. Always wear one watch will increase the wear and tear of the strap.
