Generally speaking, cleaning a watch within three to five years, it is good for it to prolong lifespan. But inn real life, there are a number of people own their watch runs regularly without oil. So I am confused how often should oil a watch?
Meanwhile, there are diverse oils in the world, such as Mineral, petroleum, animal, and vegetable and so on.I am curious what type of oil using in the mechanical watch. Can you guys have any ideas? Thanks a lot

If the following situation appeared, you should oil and maintain your watch.
The watch is slow or fast.
Sometimes the watch would stop.
The watch winds with low efficiency.
Listen to the sound with noise.
If your watch exists the above problem, you should clean and oil it, or it will be damaged.
As regard to the oil, I saw a thread that Synthetic lubricants are great. It can keep a watch running even under adverse conditions.
