  1. Definitely in-house movement. It completes a watch. Waiting for the arrival of the Pelagos to this part of Asia.
  2. I don't think I ever saw a model name between lugs. At 12 oclock should be a model number and 6 oclock a serial numbers. It all gets more suspicious!
  3. Try Analog/Shift. Based here in NYC. Great guys, top product. analog/shift For affordable vintage check out 10:25 Vintage. Good buddy of mine runs the site. 10:25 Vintage | Affordable Vintage, Classic, and Antique Watches
  4. Like Rolex, Tudor watches are rarely discounted. I managed to get a very small (about 5%) Discount off its full RRP (on a Black Bay). Being new models with Tudor's inhouse movement, I doubt that Authorised Dealers would discount them at all, especially when there is high demand and low supply of them.
  5. Hi all, Considering this one, and would like to get some opinions/feedback since it is a good size investment. And if any one has seen the Metropolitan Boutique Edition, let me know what you guys think. Thx and take care,
  6. Is that a reduced Speedy? The XVII looks huge next to it.
  7. As I stated earlier, I'm not an expert - so I can't comment on specifics about the watch. But I found your other thread and found the listing for the watch. The site where it's listed for sale is legit. Does the site post any reviews or feedback of sellers? Does the site do any authenticity checks or are they just simply a site for selling? I have not purchased through that site, so those are questions I don't have the answers to. The seller is basically non-existent outside of their sales postings on that site. They are not on any other typical sites to check feedback and/or reputation. Are they active on any other sites - watch related or otherwise - with feedback in any way, shape, or form? If so, can they prove that they are that person? Have you contacted the seller directly asking for specific pictures of the watch next to a current newspaper and set to a specific time? Have you run the pictures they posted in their sales listing through Google's reverse image search? Have you asked to call and speak with the seller? Are you local to the seller? Would they meet you for a face-to-face deal - perhaps at an AD? Do they allow you to get the watch inspected at an AD and return it if it's not legit? Is a 30% discount typical for IWCs? Will the seller accept PayPal? Do you have a credit card with buyer protection to pay through PayPal? If you end up losing the money, can you live without it? After communicating with the seller, do you have a good feeling about them? Or are you still not comfortable with them? These are all questions that would go through my mind and guide me to my decision if I were in your shoes. Hope this helps.
  8. Hello, I'm in Hanoi, Vietnam (travelling) and I stumbled across a little watch repair / shop. I peeked in and saw a bunch of vintage russian watches, which make sense bc Vietnam is communist. Anyway, he had two old swiss watches. One was an IWC watch . It looks old and has a decent amount of patina and wear. He claimed it to be from the 40s-50s. How can I tell if it is genuine? Would I have to get the case open? I'm heading back there in a bit, I'll try to take some pictures. Thanks Also I think this is my first post.
  9. Hi guys Can someone give me a name or model number on this IWC watch? Thanks in advance
  10. I saw this too! I'm guessing the set designers are IWC fans :)
  11. That doesn't look modest to me - fantastic watches and grouped very appropriately. Only problem I would guess, if you're like me, is that when you acquire your next one, it'll just fuel your desire for the next next! You know what you like - and why - so it's natural that you want to collect each and every variation, no matter how similar they may appear superficially.
  12. Albranius, are you sure that that first photo you posted isn't actually a photo of the genuine movement? It looks almost identical to my photo.
  13. That's pricey and SG is pretty good for second hand watches
  14. The problem with the Yacht Club in my opinion is that it looks a little dressy to be a sport watch.
  15. Hey, first time posting on here... Recently came across this watch and I'm very much doubting it's real. On the back it says 2011 01/50 international watch co 2345678 IWC portugieser grande complication. On the inside part schaffhausen fower reserved
  16. Thanks for this. The price difference is quite significant! Roll on October... :)
  17. Another blue sunburst dial. Goes with a lot of my clothes. A surprisingly smart watch:
  18. Hello everyone, Has anyone had an experience with this watch, or Sturmanskie in general? How is the quality? It uses a Vostok 2409A movement.
  19. I would send a message to ebay so they ban that user... When looking at both pictures, it really is the very same watch.
  20. Thanks Seele! You wont have by any chance a photo of the sekonda version rigth?
