  1. I got a call from a local AD in Houston yesterday. They had a north face and a Pelagos blue both in stock. The Northface was sold yesterday, so I wasn't able to see it in person. I took the Pelagos blue home.
  2. There should be no up/down movement. Bezel should remain flush with the case of the watch.
  3. You want 2mm thick ones I called and asked
  4. All excellent advice, thank you gents. I'm going to keep wearing it and see how it pans out before sending it away for a regulation. Because it's borderline and it makes sense there should be some 'settling in' after all it is a mechanical device with moving parts.
  5. Someone you don't know approaches you at a time when you suddenly have a large amount of spare cash and offers you something that is too good to be true with no guarantee of authenticity and it turn out not to be legit :)

    IWC Pilot Ref Help

Thanks guys for the quick reply. You're correct, there isn't the engraving on the caseback and i checked on google, seems like it should be there. Not sure, if anyone else have any more comments, might have to walk away from this one. Richard
  7. Nice looking watch. Only gripe is yet another tiny date window with a mismatched font. I think this watch would look better without date. Love the black dial version.

    IWC pricing

In my view, the ETA IWC offerings do not represent good value considering you could get a well finished watch elsewhere with a manufacture/prestige movement for similar money. While in-house offerings aren't a bargain, I don't think they are an unreasonable value.
  9. Is this a rare model of the 851 movement - and what about the dial color , I have not often seen those . Pls gice le your opinion Thank you Alexander

    IWC 3714-45

Can you PM me and let me know who sells them new for $5700. The ADs seem to sell them for retail and even online new that I've seen are around $6500.. Thanks!

    IWC 3714-45

Hello everyone, I'm thinking of purchasing a preowned Portuguese and I found what appears to be a nice example but it's from 2001. Can anyone let me know if the size has changed over the last 13 years and if there are any major differences between one this old and a current one. It is listed at 40mm but I believe it is really supposed to be 40.9mm. Have they changed anything else like the fonts? Thanks for your help.
  12. Sorry, just this one picture.
  13. To use a buckle or deployant you will need the standard tang strap. A tang would not work with the deployant strap. I prefer a deployant over a tang as it saves the strap and is more secure when taking off and on. I switch my 3878 between strap and bracelet as I like to change on how I feel. Mine is a deployant length strap as this is what it came with. On my other IWCs i use standard length straps with deployants as I prefer the fit like that.
