FWIW .... I'd go for the BLNR since you already have a 116610.
  3. I have almost made up my mind to do the same. As mentioned above, ETA will be easier to service on the years to come and given that the ETA version is available only a couple of years along with the fact that Tudor has made a comeback, first gen Pelagos will be the one to own. IWC 378901.

Where, that's a steal at that price.
  7. Dear all, I am a happy owner of an IWC Aquatimer 371933 with a rubberstrap. After some serious time at google, I understand its pretty hard to find original straps/bracelets to this fantastic but discontinued timepiece. Would love to get hold of the original steel bracelet and also other straps that will fit the 3719 Aquatimer series. Any good ideas, links, pictures or thoughts from fellow IWC Aquatimer lovers out there? Thanks in advance - Martin
  8. Great watch, great strap, great shoes. I will post you my Santoni´s on of these days. Less extravagant but still great.
  9. Back from posting hiatus, I guess it's been, because of a story I think is fun. And a chance to give a 'Meranom treated me right' post. Bought a piece for a woman I've been seeing (have divorced since joining WUS). She'd previously dated a wis. (They are friends, apparently he saw a pic of me and said "Old guys are ruining G-Shocks" but we'll let that crack go...) So I wanted to show off my love of Vostok, see if she was familiar with Russian pieces. Purchase was May 10. Hasn't arrived. Dmitry at Meranom has been in touch with me, and the package tracked in Russia post. Just hadn't shown up. I thought customs, got lost, whatever. Not that much money (big part of the love, for me), maybe it'll show up yet, but I was beginning to lose hope. This morning I awake to an email from Dmitry. The package had been returned, from a previous address, an earlier purchase. All the way back to Chistapol? Ha! Now I feel bad for causing trouble! Now the watch has a story attached with it! I'm tickled as a little kid. Thanks Dmitry! Thanks Meranom! I'll start looking for the piece to arrive again!
  10. Love it! grandpa says hello to the nipper!
  11. Phoenix, Thank you very much! I had been puzzling over this transplant for a few weeks, and you have kindly shown me the way - I was almost certain that it would be very difficult! Thanks again, Life is Good! Klink
  12. If they are from MoscowWatch.com they are real and stunningly new. I got mine Raketa big zero from them and I also was shocked, since USSR is no longer with us for 24 years. Got in touch with them and I was assured that it is new old stock. Apparently they for ahold of it somehow and keep selling online in low dose. But yes they are stunningly new.
  13. Here's the listing I bought my MoD bezel insert from for my 5513 homage build. It fit perfectly in a boris_gvb bezel. The FFF insert is the 4th pic down FS: Custom bezel inserts for your Seiko(new 7A28, 6217, black PO for Sumo available) Harold was really easy to work with and I got my insert in about 12 days. I want to order a FFF insert as well, just can't swing the $50 right now...
  14. i really love the look of some of these 'fakes'. i'd be more than happy to wear one out and about.
  15. That sounds incredibly annoying. I'm hoping that won't happen as it's a 'Signed for' parcel which requires me to sign to say I've got it.
  16. Thank you very much indeed Comrade Surok55, very much appreciated.
  17. Thanks to Geoff I've gotten in touch with Dafydd and have called upon his services a few times, with nothing but positive experiences. The latest batch I sent him consisted of 9 watches to be cleaned, oiled and adjusted for timekeeping. 2 of them had actually been serviced by him previously but started losing time after a few weeks of use. I emailed him about it and he explained this could be caused by a drop of oil seeping from the top balance jewel hole and finding its way onto the balance spring, thus making the coils of the spring stick together. He offered to take a look at them again so I sent them over with the 7 other watches I had lined up for service. Got them back about two weeks ago and amazingly my bill was only £87 including postage he didn't even charge me for the pair with the stuck balance spring coils. Obviously this was too much kindness on his part so I added some to the billed amount when I made the wire transfer; after all it wasn't his fault and I don't want him to work for naught. He still has to invest his time and effort in disassembling, cleaning and re-oiling. All 9 watches in the batch are working perfectly now, Dafydd consistently delivers a great job at impossibly low prices. I am myself also hoping he will stay in business for many years to come
  18. You are right, comrade. Black hands are correct although paint chipping from the dial foot location could happen on an authentic watch but I do believe it does indicate a disassembly at some point.
  19. Can't work this one out. I know no one is making new 3133 movements, but even older ones are selling for huge $$ now. Watched you could buy for $120 new are selling for $300+ in used, second hand, unwarranted condition. They were never rare, so what's the cause of the price bubble?
  20. Franken of the week part II. Those Ukrainian magicians keep surprising me... The price is 80$ - not so bad, not so bad If you are interested (for some bizzare reason) search for 'molnia tank' on eBay.
