    Orange wearability

Hi. I hope that with all the knowledge on this forum somebody can help me with their experiences of owning and wearing an Orange leather strap on their Planet Ocean. At present mine, an Orange bezelled Chronogaph is on the Stainless steal bracelet. But I am getting very much into leather straps on my watches and wanted to buy the Orange leather on deployment as a change. My AD talked me out of it saying that he has had customers complaining that theirs are not wearing well, in fact the orange finish is coming off in places leaving white bleached leather beneath. I would like to find out if this is general fault with this colour strap before forking out £400 on one. Thanks Alan
  2. These are fanatstic watches. I have the Chronograph and PO, both are the 44.5 mm size and are perfect for the average to large wrist sizes. Lovely watches that attract alot of comments.Which ever you decide to buy you will not regret for it 1 second.
  3. Hi Everybody. I am still in shock and amazement from yesterdays visit to my local AD to pick up my Deville Chronoscope. black/white dial on a black leather deployment strap. After the transaction was complete, the manager who I know very well started talking about the Ploprof he would like to own. As I was not overly sure about this one, a bit big I thought !. Anyway I asked if he would show me the one he had in the window which had a black dial on black Rubber. As soon as I held this beauty I was in love. It is a truely magnificent watch, everything about it is so well made and thought out. The work that has gone into the clasp alone leaves many manufacturers back in the dark ages. The dial seems to radiate inwards to the centre of the dial. The solid construction and safety features like automatic helium escape Valve, The Crown guard protected system and the bezel release button are beautiful made and work so solidly. I am going to purchase this watch next, that goes without saying, but not for diving I am afraid. not my thing. Do you guys think this watch will suit weekend wearing, perhaps for beach days or simular rugged wearing? or is it overkill ? And do you think a rubber or S/S mesh bracelet looks best for this type of useage. Please post any Photos of this lovely watch you lucky owners may have to help my decision. Thanks
  4. Hi Again. In my my previous post I asked for advise on whether to buy my New Ploprof with a rubber strap or mesh bracelet. I had great response but as sort of expected it was about 60/40 in favour of the Mesh. I think I may buy both rubber and the mesh but was wondering how difficult it is to change them yourself save having to go to your AD everytime you want to do it. Has anyone any advise please on doing this and is it risky for fear of scratching the case???
  5. Hi Rollieboy. I have to disagree with some comments made on this subject. I have owned the Rolex Deepsea (briefly) and am about to buy the Omega Seamaster 300M diver chrono in a day or two's time. I have to say I found the Rolex the most uncomfortable and heavy watch I have ever wore, it is massive and does not sit well on the wrist and is very top heavy, in that it is always rolling on the wrist, rubbing/hitting the wrist bone... not very good feeling all day long and I do not have small wrist either (8 1/2 ") Whereas the Omega Chrono is much more comfortable, sits well and stays on the wrist, its a fair bit lighter and I would say shallower too. Buy the Omega Chrono you will love it. (before it is superseded with the newer more expensive version without the "waves" on the Dial. It's every watch you'll need.
  6. Hi. Heres one I purchased a few months ago, a Planet Ocean 45.5 mm red gold on leather. I love this watch.

    Omega Ref Book

Hello fellow Omega nuts. I am hoping someone can help me, I am looking to purchase the Omega Book " A journey Through time" . Has anyone had chance to look through the book and if so is it worth the amount it costs to buy new.... If any one has a copy they would like to sell me please let me know. thanks.

A client gave me a gift

Hi Brian. I guess I rather spend the money £400 (in the UK) towards a new watch than on a book, A lovely book I grant you, but I suspect I am not alone in the forum in feeling this. I guess this is also why I have a lovely collection of Omega watches rather than a lovely collection of watch books.

    A Bit of Fun

Hi. As I am useless as a photographer but want to record my watch collection I have started (work in progress) to add them to a background photo to add some impact to them. A couple from my collection still need to be tranformed see attached photos to see which need to be done. its only a bit of fun but I enjoy doing it. Hope you enjoy looking. I still have not picked up the 2011 speedmaster Co-axial Chrono yet...... seems ages for this to appear in the shops.

    Speedy Co-axial

I am still waiting for the phone call to say it has arrived at my AD, I am getting a little impatient now. AD Say it's expected around mid October, so I still have not seen this watch yet, only in the photos on Omega web page.

    Speedy Co-axial

Thank you everyone who wrote in this post. I am afraid I have had no phone call from my AD to tell me it is in yet, hopefully I will do next week. I will post actual photos of the watch ASAP after I get it, till then more sleepless nights I guess (but I would not have it any other way, I love the feeling of anticipation waiting for a new arrival)
