Cartier quartz movements

Recommended Posts

Just a quick question: Does anyone know what year Cartier started producing their own quartz movements? The website says over twenty years, but I am looking at a Panthere that is listed from the 1990's, so it would possibly be right on the borderline as far as being in-house or not. Thank you for any help.

I don´t think that the Panthere had an in-house movement, it being called Cal 83 which was also used by ebel, I even suspect it being an Eta movement (but not sure)...Maybe someone knows more?

Here are the links to Ebel and Cartier Cal 83;

Quartz is more stable than the mechanical movement, more punctual. Some big names are introduced in the classic series of quartz movement watch models, the price is also better than the same section of the mechanical movement of a lot, so wear quartz, not shame.
