Solar Impulse Titanium Speedmaster GMT

Recommended Posts

I'm a huge fan of this new Solar Impulse Titanium Speedmaster GMT with Saphire crystal and a date function as well! The carbon fiber dial and caseback is certainly eye catching (though I would have to see it in the flesh to really appreciate it I'm sure) and the caseback lettering and logo really stand out. The retail according to a few ADs is around $8000 USD but then you get what you pay for right?

Just in case anyone here has not heard of this new Titanium Speedmaster from Omega here are the details...

My AD usually carries the complete Omega line but passed on stocking this one. He can get one in a couple of days and apply his regular discount but he doubts the demand.

IMO, the dial with the "carbon fibre" is the busiest this side of Breitling. Gloss or even flat back would have been better.

And the $8K price tag further limits the market in this economy.

Interesting watch.. I like the 24 hr hand although it doesn't seem as user friendly as the 24 hr function on the Rolex GMT..

I would think that there would be more demand in a SS version with a better price point... It's only competition is it's own Speedy brothers.... and even the LE's price out better...
